Dear Mr.Kleats:

I am Rav Matharoo, the father of Rajesh Matharoo. I understand that you are a busy person and have many responsibilties. I have some concerns regarding my sons soccer team and would appreciate it if you would take the time to read through them.

I understand that working a full time job and then coaching a soccer team can be stressful. But your regular attendance on time would greatly be appreciated. I have attended some practices and have also noticed that after being late, practices drills are disorganized and rushed. I suggest planning the practice beforehand or hiring an assistant coach. I have also attended a few games and noticed that winning is the number one priority. Considering the age group I believe that gaining experience in the sport is more important than winning. Also all of the players should receive equal playing time as some players have sat out an entire game. Another concern I have is that yelling at the players will not achieve anything. If they make a mistake, point it out to them and tell them how to correct the mistake and by doing this you will be reinforcing their confidence. I thank you for taking the time to read this letter and hope you will consider some of my Suggestions.

Sincerely,

Rav Matharoo

No Zero Policy

Princess Margaret Secondary School is a well respected high school in the small town of Penticton with about 700 students. The teachers are well educated and for the most part know what they are doing. The teachers push students to reach their goals and even chase them down to make sure they achieve the passing grade. After constantly complaing to the principal about how this student didn't get his work in on time and how this kid hasn't attended class for a week, the teachers came up with a policy. The "no zero" policy. The no zero policy was put in play to help those failing students who refuse to hand assignment in on time and with this policy you have all the time you need.

So the teachers give out deadlines on assignments but really it's a suggestion to when the students should hand the assignment in. By invoking this policy the teachers think that they are making it easier for them but when you think about it the teachers can give out an assignment at the start of the year and students can hand it in at the end of the term. Rather than mark the assignment throughout the year the teachers have chosen to mark them all at once. The teachers get this sick twisted drive from hunting students down.

By invoking this policy the teachers are intending to help the students achieve a higher grade. Who cares about punctuality as long as they graduate. This policy also teaches a great life lesson that if you constantly dont show up and hand in assignments on time that your boss too will change the rules for you. The no zero policy is the best policy ever and is here to stay.

Is bullying a problem in every school?

Some people say that every school has a bullying problem. A lot of high schools have numerous programs to prevent bullying. Although Princess Margaret Secondary School located in the small town of Penticton BC looks like a jail it is a very welcoming school where everbody is accepted. You can walk down the hallway feeling safe and happy. When you look around in the common area at lunch you see many different groups of people. You see the popular kids at one table, the kids that are in the middle at one table and the quiet kids that don't want anything to do with anyone but their close friends. But even after seeing all these groups you can say that "maggie" is one big family and everybody looks out for each other. If someone is the subject of bullying there are many sources they can go to recieve help. They can talk to a friend or a peer counsellor or an adult counsellor. They can also talk to a member of the staff. This school also participates in many days that raise awareness to bullying like "pink day". Pink day is a day where everybody wears pink and signs a petition to stop bullying. When you witness seven hundred students and staff wearing a certain color to raise awarness then you know that this is a great school.

"I'm leaving"

After a long day Lisa crawls into bed hoping to talk to Matt. Matt oblivious to her wanting to talk continues reading his paper. After a long five minutes without either of them saying a word Lisa exclaims "Matt can you please put the paper down and talk to me."

     Matt calmly replies "about what?"

"Nothing I just want you to talk to me."

"Well you know very well," expressed Matt, "that this is usually when I read my paper."

Furious, Lisa scream's, "I know it is but I want you to talk to me!"

     "Will you calm down"

"No I will not. Everyday it's the same thing where you come home from work and crawl into bed and read your newspaper."

"Well today is a bad day," expressed Matt.

"And why is it a bad day," remarked Lisa.

"It's a bad day to talk," replied Matt, "because there is a heap of news in sports and I have to read it all,"

"If i had known that I was getting into this I would not have married you," exclaimed Lisa.

      "Getting into what?" asked Matt.

"Constantly being neglected and have no one love me."

"What are you talking about," replied Matt, "I love you very much."

"Well you are not showing it by reading that paper every night. I'm leaving"

"Where are you going," expressed Matt.

"I am going to my mother's house," stated Lisa.

"Don't leave me Lisa," says Matt while sobbing. And he never heard from her again.

"I have a dream"

As my friends might say I am a unique individual. The most interesting man in the world will even say i'm an interesing person. I have won a gold medal at every possible olympic sport. Some people have a dog I have a sloth. Everything Chuck Norris knows he learned it from me. I can kill two stones with one bird. I can finish an eight hour shift in four hours. When I climb mount everest the mountain gets a frost bite.
I go to third world countries and heal the wounded with my magical powers. I finish a 7 day week in 5 days. Every morning I run around the world. I have been awarded the key to the city in 20 different cities. I can hotwire pretty much anything and hack any account. I have been awarded the noble peace prize in every category possible and have won every tv award possible.
I tutored Albert Einstein. I coached Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan and Tiger woods. If I wrote the phone book, it would be the best selling book. I can finish a game of tic tac toe in two moves. When I get near a black hole, it gets sucked into me. Some people think that the American's were'nt the first people on the moon. Well they are right, I was the first person on the moon.
I wrote Martin Luther King's speech "I have a dream" and I also have a dream, and that dream is to attend your university. When i get accepted have your people call my people.

Sincerely,

Rav Matharoo

Struggles of grade 12

Grade 12, it can be a exciting time for some but a nightmare for others. The academic pressure and students doing everything they can to get the marks they need for post secondary education. We wake up every morning frustrated about getting up so early and the half completed homework. We go to our first class and it's French. Not really remembering french from over a year ago the teacher starts bombarding you with questions and all you can say is "qui" and "non". Then you go to english and your teacher admininsters an English 12 qualification test "issued" by the school board. After passing that test, we recieve our first assignment. A paragraph on grade 12. To get us in the writing mood he makes us walk around the hallway with "style". I dont know if it was to help or if it was for his pleasure to see us look like fools. So my question is why do we force ourselves out of bed every morning, is it to make a fool of yourself in english or are these teachers going to start teaching us kids something.
